About Walker Ranch

Walker Ranch ministries has its genesis in a serendipitous conversation between Clay County residents Wallace Coffey and John Fischer.  Both men realized in a fateful conversation that they were independently working on the same idea, an adventurous outdoor venue to attract and mentor local youth in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Wallace and his wife Judy were already well on their way with “Walker Ranch” in the Claremont Springs area of Clay County, while John and Karen felt that a property closer to Ashland might be easier to develop. As it turned out, “Walker Ranch” (originally named after Wallace and Judy‘s grandchild who went to be with the Lord soon after birth) was itself soon to be born just outside of Ashland, where a property and existing lake were about to undergone a radical transformation.

Our Story

It took three years of digging and hammering, but in early 2025, final construction on a grand timber frame pavilion overlooking a newly renovated lake was complete. Walker Ranch was finally ready to serve the local church of Clay County and beyond.

The dream of two friends, along with a great deal of help, had finally come to fruition. Sadly, along this journey, Wallace lost his wife Judy to the Lord’s call home. Judy is gone, but not forgotten, and her love, vision, and inspiration for Walker Ranch will forever live on in its design and purpose.

We invite you to come and enjoy phase one of Walker Ranch, as we prepare to bring you the next phase of exciting and challenging activities, meant to further serve and empower our local youth and church families. We know you will love it here at Walker Ranch every bit as much as we do. Come and see us!
